Bradley’s architecturally oriented process addresses all aspects of interior design. This perspective is the foundation for his thoughtful interiors that balance spatial configuration, scale, proportion and light with curated palettes of materials, texture and color.
Bradley and his team work diligently from the onset of each project to establish the utmost level of trust between client and designer. They follow a clear, linear design process that provides complete transparency into the firm’s work, fees and furnishings procurement. While his team has a strong focus on aesthetics, the work is equally pragmatic. Bradley goes to great lengths to learn and address the unique requirements of his clients’ individual lifestyles. This thoughtful, collaborative approach to design has been the cornerstone of his studio’s practice and ultimate success, often resulting in repeat work with most of his valued clients.

“Bradley Stephens looked to grand 1920’s banks and 18th century salons in designing a family home. The designer’s initial mood board featured images of terrazzo floors, tray ceilings, and metal inlays. From there, he began to layer on warmer elements like fine wools and velvets, contemporary art pieces, and a medley of antique and vintage furniture.”

“We talked through the sequence of the home, area by area,” says Stephens, who probed the families’ functional needs along with their aspirations and what their previous homes had lacked. “I liken it to writing a novel about their lives in this new place,” he explains. “That was the foundation, so before we made one decision or stepped into the first showroom, we knew all about their preferences.”

“The concept of “design trend” makes me cringe! Our firm’s mantra is ‘timeless, beautiful and functional’– so the big trend today isn’t necessarily our focus. I find inspiration in creating spaces that are informed by the unique history, personalities, and aspirations of our clients – no matter ‘what’s hot and what’s not.’ One thing I do appreciate about trends is that they often put a spotlight on underappreciated colors, materials or patterns – both vintage and modern – that deserve their moment in the sun.”
“Stephens is said to be meticulous on budget, and gives clients an item-by-item, room-by-room “recipe” for their home with high-priced and low-priced options for everything. Said to be a big believer in the philosophy of “the Gap skirt with the Prada jacket,” we hear that Stephens is a designer who understands how to prioritize spending. One satisfied client told us, ‘Bradley is a rising star and I feel so lucky to have found him before he inevitably gets inundated with clients.’”
“Bradley is always available and to this day when there is an issue, he deals with it immediately.”
“We live in a building with summer work rules and Bradley was able to get the job done while sticking to these rules.”
“My favorite element is the lighting design. Bradley custom built the chandeliers and lights. Whenever anyone walks into the house, they comment on how wonderful the lighting is.”
“He really understood functionality. There are lots of kids in my home, and he used all stain-resistant fabrics in the family rooms. You’d never know they are stain resistant though, because the fabrics are so beautiful.”
“So full service, nothing too small for him. He even made sure we had the right toilet paper!”
“He created a working manual for the house that our housekeeper can use.”
“There’s nothing Bradley thinks cannot be corrected.”
“My favorite part was that it was a true collaboration. Working with Bradley was a highly personal and collaborative experience.”
“People come into my home and tell me how much it looks like me!”
